A Weekly Word From Our
President
[4.9.03] Hello Key clubbers from
Bloomington High and visitor clubbers from all around the world.
This message will be updated weekly, almost like a state of the
union address, but for our club. So I would like to express my joy,
that we have spearheaded this year and started off very strong. The
new board is getting along great and is very productive. As of now
we are planning out the rest of this school year and will soon be
tackling the next. As always I hope that the all members of the club
would express there opinions and ideas concerning everything that is
going on in the club and you can do this simply by speaking to a
board member or actually attending a board meeting which are Mondays
after school in room 404.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who raised funds for the
Awake-A-Thon, through your efforts you raised approximately $500 for
charity and another $500 for our club in our efforts to serve our
community.
We have now just started our Coin Drive for Iraqi Refugees and this
event is getting tons of publicity (we got in the newspaper) and I
really hope that we do well with this event; Even though we have
librated an oppressed country there are still people suffering from
the wake of this war and it our duty as the privileged people in
this world, those of whom have food, water, and a sanitary
environment, to help those who do not have those necessities of
life. The money we are raising now through this event will go
directly to the Iraqi people in there efforts to sanitize their
water supplies.
Members please keep an eye out for all upcoming events such as DCM,
Earth Day school Clean-up, Arbor Day Tree Planting, and the
Carnival. I hope to see improved participation in these events and
remember whenever there is a problem concerning the club or events
please do not be afraid to ask, that is why we are here, to help you
help the community. That is all for now I plan on having a little
message every week I would write more, but I'm on a time constraint
as of now. Thank you all for all your support and thank you for
taking an active part in making our community a better place.
With much appreciation and love
for service,
Gurpreet Sangha, President of
BHS KeyClub
